BYE BYE MAGAZINES
First Blueprint magazine and now Adorn are no longer.
Why are our cool crafty inspirational magazines getting the boot?
Adorn, the crafty girls guide to embellishing life, was scheduled to release it's spring issue March 11, according to it's press kit. But it ceased publication on 2/11/2008. And the web site is not functioning anymore so I've taken it off the right nav.
Blueprint was geared toward twenty- and thirty-something young women. Martha Stewart said that generation of women don't like paper. "The world has changed. By blogging, they get information. By texting. By BlackBerrying. By surfing the internet. Even using their cell phones to retrieve information on the go!" Ah... WHAT EV!
So Martha Stewart Omnimedia decided to change the format of Blueprint, shutting down the mag and...creating special issues out of the Blueprint brand. No mention of whether the new issues will be multimedia-rich or iPhone-ready.
The January/February issue was Blueprint's last issue. Blueprint's blog Bluelines is still current. But it's not the same as the magazine. And if you were a Blueprint subscriber you should be getting your Martha Stewart magazine replacement. I received mine last week.
Back issues of Adorn can be ordered at Sixth & Spring Books.
