TOOLS of the TRADE:
book covers

I came across a really cool site dedicated to book cover design called covers.fwis.com. I personally find book cover design interesting because you have to entice the customer from feet away. I like the lettering styles on the covers that I pulled from the site.

It's maintained by Fwis, a design firm based out of Brooklyn, NY and Portland, OR. They specialize in fresh, concept-driven graphic design. There are some wonderful graphic design and inspiration to see on their site.

TOOLS of the TRADE:
Olympic Summer Games

With the summer games going on I figured I'd find some Olympic inspiration.

COLOURlovers has an nice article about Summer Olympic logos and color palettes from 1896 to 2012.

Summer Olympics Coca-Cola Bottle Collector's Set

HOW magazine is having a contest! One winner will receive the collector's set worth $60. The special Coca-Cola bottle-and-song set features eight bottles and music tracks created for the Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Another cool thing I found is the 2008 Beijing Olympics created in Legos!

Created by The Hong Kong LEGO Users Group within 100 hrs.

TOOLS of the TRADE:
back to school

I like the theme of this site (and the goods) called ReForm School.

Two friends opened the online store after an overwhelming response they got from people all over the world to sell their handmade goods.

These are some cool original art ReForm School features.

TOOLS of the TRADE:
type

I found this cool type photography on Etsy, by thetypejunkie.

I'm always drawn to the nostalgic look of the old letter blocks. But I'm sure glad we're in the digital age and we don't have to typset with those things. YIKES!

thetypejunkie's blog is cool too.
