TRADE - MAY 21st at WORK
theme: "Go Green"

With our green efforts at work I thought an eco-friendly trade would be cool. Everyone went GREEN and used recycled materials to make their ATCs.

I went through some old magazines and catalogs and cut strips with a paper cutter. Then I rearranged the strips to make a new piece of art.

I wish I would have captured the original images I used, because it was amazing to see an ad or a photograph turn into something else. For example, the black and white one was large black type on a white page. When I pieced it back together it made a cool pattern.

I'll post the ATCs that were traded next Wednesday. Happy Memorial Day weekend!

TOOLS of the TRADE:
pinhole

I found these cool cards on Etsy by Heather Smith Jones.

She pokes one hole at a time through paper with a needle to create a pattern, image, or text. Very labor intensive, but it would be a cool method to use on an ATC.

TOOLS of the TRADE: collage

These are some cool images from the local Kansas City performance ensemble Quixotic. I've had a link to their site under motion on the sidebar for forever. They used to have lots of animation on their site, but they've changed it a bit. I keep it on KC ATC for inspiration because their design and performances are wonderful.

I missed last year's performance, but I plan on going to it this year.
